Stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccinations to help protect against severe illness, hospitalisation, and death. Regular booster doses are particularly important for people aged 65 years and over, and those at higher risk of severe COVID-19.
Current booster recommendations under the National Immunisation Program (NIP):
- Aged 75 years and older: recommended every 6 months
- Aged 65–74 years: recommended every 12 months, with the option to receive a dose every 6 months
- Aged 18–64 years: consider a booster every 12 months
- Children and adolescents (under 18): generally not recommended unless medically indicated
- People with severe immunocompromise: may require more frequent doses, depending on age and clinical advice
Vaccination timing is usually based on at least 6 months since your last dose or COVID-19 infection.
